I teach AP English Language and spend most of my time helping students write essays that sound purposeful rather than memorised. My degree is in English education, and I’ve been tutoring for seven years alongside school-based teaching. Rhetorical analysis is the part I teach most often, especially when students know what they want to say but are not yet writing with enough control. We also do regular work on synthesis structure and timing.

Hi, I tutor AP English Language and I’m quite big on line-by-line editing. A lot of students I meet have decent ideas, but the writing gets loose halfway through the paragraph. That’s usually where I come in. I studied English language and literature and started tutoring through referrals from former students. I like argument essays best, partly because they show very quickly whether someone can build a case or is just filling space.

I specialise in AP English Language with particular emphasis on rhetorical analysis, argument development, and revision of timed writing. My academic background is in linguistics, which helps when students need to become more precise with tone, syntax, and commentary. Over the past eight years I have taught students with very different writing styles, and I find that the strongest progress often comes from close work on introductions, evidence choice, and paragraph control.
