I tutor AP Calculus AB and BC with a pretty practical approach. Most of my students come to me when derivatives make sense in class but fall apart in free-response questions, so that’s usually where we start. I studied maths and later worked through first-year university calculus with engineering students, which helps when a topic needs explaining two different ways. Sequences, related rates and volume questions are probably my favourite lessons to teach.

I spend a lot of time on equilibrium, acids and bases, electrochemistry and calculation-heavy questions because those are usually the turning points in a student’s grade. I also help students get more confident reading data, not just memorising reactions.

I specialise in AP Physics, with most of my tutoring focused on mechanics, electricity and the written reasoning students need for full-credit answers. My training is in physics, and I have worked with both strong maths students and students who need the concepts built from the ground up. In lessons, I tend to use short problem sets and careful diagrams rather than long lectures, especially when we are dealing with forces or fields.

I tutor AP English Language with a strong focus on argument, rhetorical analysis and timed essays. My background is in English education, and a lot of my work has been with students who read well but struggle to write under pressure. We spend time on structure, sentence control and how to use evidence without sounding mechanical. I also do a lot of close work on thesis statements because weak openings tend to affect everything after them.

My work in AP English Literature is centred on close reading, essay planning and helping students say something specific about a text instead of circling around it. I studied literature at university and have taught novels, drama and poetry in tutorial settings for several years. I particularly enjoy sessions on poetry comparison and open-response essays, where students often know more than they think but need help shaping it into a strong argument.

I have spent the last seven years teaching AP Calculus AB/BC in one-to-one settings, with most of my work centred on students aiming to sharpen method and timing before the exam. Hi, I teach AP Chemistry and most of my lessons are with students who want someone to slow the course down and make it feel manageable. I’m especially used to helping with stoichiometry, kinetics and the dreaded titration questions. I studied chemical engineering, so I like showing where the chemistry is actually going instead of treating every chapter as a separate thing. We usually mix content review with lots of past-paper practice.

AP Physics is usually where students find me after a few rough test scores. I teach it in a very step-by-step way: what the question is asking, which principle applies, what to write, and where marks normally disappear. My degree is in mechanical engineering, but I’ve spent years tutoring physics almost exclusively. I’m especially comfortable with motion, energy, momentum and those multi-part questions that look worse than they are.
